Prep softball brackets: Box Elder earns No. 4 seed in 5A playoffs

The Bees bye to the second round, facing the winner of No. 13 East and No. 20 Bonneville.
Box Elder was the lone Northern Utah team to bye to the second round. Winless Roy missed the cut as the No. 28-ranked team in the 24-team playoff field.
Teams play a best-of-three first-round series May 10 and 12, then a best-of-three second-round series May 15-16 at home sites. The remaining eight teams advance to double-elimination bracket play held May 20-21 at Valley Regional Softball Complex in Taylorsville.
The final two teams standing play a best-of-three title series May 22-23 at BYU.

No. 18 Northridge at No. 15 Hunter; winner faces No. 2 Bountiful
