Girls lacrosse brackets: Bear River No. 1 in 4A; local rematches abound
On a 53-match winning streak, the three-time defending 4A state champion Bear River girls lacrosse team took its rightful place as the No. 1 seed in the now-expanded 4A classification’s playoff bracket after the UHSAA released the postseason fields for the Class 6A, 5A and 4A postseasons.
Bear River byes into the second round.
In 6A, the bracket sets up two Region 1 rematches: Layton at Weber in the first round and Fremont at Davis in the second round. The 5A bracket also pits Northridge and Box Elder in a first-round region rematch.
All three tournaments are hosted at home sites through the quarterfinals with games Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday this week.
All semifinals will be played Tuesday, May 20, at Westminster College. The championship matches are set for Thursday, May 22, at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman.
