Girls soccer playoffs: St. Joseph’s Evans ties state record with 8 goals in win

OGDEN — Sofia Evans scored all eight goals to tie the girls soccer record for single-game goals in the state of Utah and led No. 2 St. Joseph Catholic girls soccer to an 8-0 home win over No. 15 Enterprise (6-13) in the 2A second round Wednesday.
Ari Bond tallied five assists for St. Joseph (11-4). Addison Doebler, Ashley Fergus and Shiloh West each had one assist. Doebler kept the clean sheet with five saves.
The Jayhawks will host No. 7 Grand County at 1 p.m. Saturday in the 2A quarterfinals.
MORGAN 6, DELTA 0
DELTA — No. 9 Morgan (5-11) scored four goals in the first half on the way to a 3A first-round shutout win at No. 8 Delta (9-11).
The Trojans advance to the quarterfinals and a rematch with Region 12 rival and No. 1 seed Ogden (14-2) at 1 p.m. Saturday.
GRANTSVILLE 8, BEN LOMOND 0
GRANTSVILLE — No. 13 Ben Lomond was shut out in a 3A first-round loss at No. 4 Grantsville (11-6). The Scots end the year with a 4-11 record.
AM HERITAGE 8, UTAH MILITARY 0
AMERICAN FORK — No. 14 Utah Military-Hill Field was on the wrong side of a clean sheet in a 2A second-round loss at No. 3 American Heritage (11-6). The Thunderbirds end the season with a 6-14 mark.
