By JUSTIN B. JOHNSON - Standard-Examiner | Oct 15, 2025

PLAIN CITY — Manase Tuatagaloa threw for five touchdowns and Slade Parker found the end zone four times as Fremont bested Roy 41-21 on Wednesday night to finish its unblemished run through Region 5.

It’s the first time since 2014 that Fremont has completed an undefeated region football schedule.

Fremont (8-2, 6-0 Region 5) got on the board when Salesi Moa turned a Tuatagaloa toss into a 60-yard touchdown. Tuatagaloa found Parker for a 10-yard score and a 29-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

With 44 seconds left in the first half, Tuatagaloa tossed a 15-yard scoring strike to Dean Hall, then Tuatagaloa connected with Parker for a 25-yard score with 4 seconds left and Fremont led 24-4 at the half. Parker scored the final Silverwolves’ points on a 40-yard scamper with 7:30 left in the game.

Carsten Morrison opened the scoring when he intercepted Tuatagaloa and took it 30 yards to the house for Roy (3-6, 3-3) with 11:45 left in the first quarter.

Drayden Esplin scored on a 2-yard plunge to give Roy a 14-7 lead midway through the second quarter, then capped the scoring on a 7-yard rushing touchdown with 3:40 left in the game.

For Fremont, Tuatagaloa finished 16 of 22 for 267 yards through the air. Moa had 115 yards on four receptions and Parker hauled in 64 receiving yards on four catches (three of them TDs). Chase Blanch totaled 16 carries for 59 yards and Taylor Graham added 51 yards on six carries.

MORGAN 48, LOGAN 7

MORGAN — Eli Mortensen had 193 receiving yards and scored four touchdowns as Morgan blew out Logan (4-6, 3-2 3A North) to cap the Trojans’ fourth straight undefeated region campaign.

George Thurston got Morgan (9-1, 5-0) on the board on a 10-yard run with 10:27 left in the first quarter. After Logan scored on a 46-yard pass for a 7-7 tie, Mortensen gave the Trojans the lead for good on a 31-yard Cade Randall first-quarter scoring strike and a 35-yard touchdown with 10:15 left in the second quarter.

Randall found Thurston for a 17-yard touchdown, then went back to Mortensen for a 42-yard touchdown pass, and Morgan led 35-7 at the half.

Mortensen got behind the Logan defense yet again, and Randall lofted a perfect ball for a 32-yard score. Cael Edgington capped the scoring on a 25-yard touchdown run with 1:49 left in the game.

Morgan has won 22 consecutive region games dating back to a loss Oct. 1, 2021, at Grantsville.
