Davis High quarterback Tradon Bessinger (4) throws the football as Layton's Gavin Hurst (2) looks on in a game Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025, in Layton.A key Northern Utah high school football commitment unraveled on Monday when national recruiting analyst Blair Angulo of 247Sports reported Davis High senior quarterback Tradon Bessinger has decommitted from Boise State and reopened his recruitment.
Bessinger is 247’s No. 7 recruit in Utah and 308th nationally.
A flurry of Power 4 interest has stirred the pot since the start of Bessinger’s senior season, which continues Friday as No. 3 Davis hosts No. 14 Bingham in the second round of the 6A postseason in Kaysville. BYU, Iowa, UCLA and Minnesota have all offered Bessinger since Aug. 31.
Spencer Danielson and Boise State seized Bessinger’s initial commitment when the Davis product held just a handful of offers, the first being from Weber State just 15 minutes up the road in Ogden. Amid a potential postseason run, Bessinger (a 75% passer) is 3,595 yards and 44 touchdowns into his final prep year and will be a highly anticipated four-star signee come the Feb. 4 deadline.
