OUTLOOK

Bonneville jumped into the coaching pool once again this offseason, but not for long as Connor McGuire left his offensive coordinator position at Roy for his first head coaching gig. McGuire previously served as OC for Jantz Afuvai before the latter’s retirement before the 2025 season, and now is back on campus with a new job tag as he looks to lift the Lakers from winless campaign. Leading rusher Noah Chavez and quarterback Paden Toula are gone, but McGuire welcomes back five starters, including a pair of two-way linemen, Wade Wayman and Carson Wilkins. Leading tackler Cache Jensen (78 combined tackles) sticks out in the secondary and junior Trevyn Sears returns snaps at tight end and linebacker. Junior Polo Afuvai and freshman Luke Loughton are the names to watch at quarterback as things progress through fall camp. Staying healthy will be the key, but McGuire is seeking a “selfless” offense during the Year 1 install. The schedule opens with a road trip to Viewmont, which escaped Bonneville by three points in last year’s opener.
