OUTLOOK

Deshon Butler is looking for the Jayhawks to double down at receiver with 35 receiving touchdowns returning via seniors Quinn Vasquez, Izaiah Hebert and sophomore Hunter Roberts. Missing from the equation is 1,400-plus passer Madden Bentley. Instead, Joseph Huseman and Keenan Campbell are the quarterbacks to watch. Senior Ryan Castaneda is another experienced returning starter at running back and linebacker. The skill is there for St. Joseph to take a step forward in 2026, but that would need to include an improved effort defensively and in the trenches. The schedule, too, is a behemoth with six road games spanning 22 total hours of travel, including a 6.5-hour drive to Whitehorse in Montezuma Creek and a 5-plus-hour drive to Monticello.
