OUTLOOK

After a step back in 2025, Mo Cannon and the Warriors return an encouraging squad featuring a veteran presence up front and the skill necessary to move forward offensively, even without the services of 1,160-yard rusher Dyson Parker. Projected starting quarterback Carter Payne threw for just under 2,000 yards and 17 touchdowns as a sophomore, but cleaning up eight interceptions is a must for a Weber offense that’ll look to junior Creed DeVries (806 yards, 9 TDs) through the air a lot this fall. Seniors Wyatt Nielsen and Greyson Jones, each doubling at linebacker, are tasked with balancing the backfield. They’ll be supported by two senior offensive lineman with tackle Bryce Meyer and guard Falcon Moorhead back up front. Defensively, seniors Carson Hill (DB), Eli Swenson (DT), and Joelle Carrillo (DE) all return. The schedule kicks off with a road trip to rival Fremont and another proper test with Brighton to begin Weber’s five-game home slate. Weber returns the experience up front to improve, but is the offense ready to step forward, too?
