By JUSTIN B. JOHNSON - Standard-Examiner | Aug 20, 2026

SYRACUSE — Two Thursday night football games, two mercy rule wins. Ledger Wight accounted for six touchdowns and Syracuse High scored 52 points in the first half for a 52-6 win over Granger that ended after the third quarter.

Wight led Syracuse (1-1) with four touchdown passes, one touchdown run and one touchdown catch. He started the scoring on a 51-yard scamper with 11:33 left in the first quarter and a two-point pass on a botched PAT gave the Titans an 8-0 lead.

Kao Prom scored on a 10-yard run, Bo Metcalfe tossed a 3-yard touchdown to Wight, then Wight connected with Isaac Edwards for a 19-yard scoring strike. With 1:32 left, Cooper Smith tackled a Granger running back in the end zone for a safety, and Syracuse led 31-0 after the first quarter.

Midway through the second quarter, Wight found Bryson Hall for a 50-yard touchdown. Prom added his second rushing touchdown on a 53-yard gallop on the next possession. With 1:44 left in the first half, Taggart Gailey took a Wight screen pass 25 yards to the house, making it 52-0 at halftime.

Granger capped the scoring on an improbable 80-yard rumble by BYU-bound, 290-pound defensive tackle/fullback Maa’imoa Havili with 10:14 left in the third quarter
