Clearfield girls tally another region win

ROY — Roy High boys basketball won the second half 33-28 to claim a narrow 64-60 region victory over Clearfield on Wednesday night.

Boston Greenhalgh led all scorers with 24 points, six assists and three steals for Roy (16-5, 8-2 Region 5). Anthony Parker added 13 and two 3-pointers. Rock Speredon posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Bode Davis led Clearfield (8-12, 5-4) with 23 points and seven rebounds. Jack Galvan tallied 22 points with four 3-pointers and seven boards, while Dallas Godderidge added nine points.

WEST FIELD 58, BONNEVILLE 54

TAYLOR — West Field outscored Bonneville by 20 points at the free-throw line, using a 19-11 first quarter to escape with a close region win.

Jaden Fowers led West Field (14-6, 9-1 Region 5) with 18 points by shooting 13 of 17 at the foul line, including 8 of 10 in the fourth quarter. Daxton Laughter added 15 points on 9-of-10 shooting at the line. Cason Malan added 11 points. The Longhorns finished 25 of 31 at the stripe.

Bonneville (2-18, 0-9) got 17 points from Bryson Landis. Jackson Call scored 15 points and Cole Monson added 11 points on three 3-pointers.

NORTHRIDGE 86, BOX ELDER 83 (OT)

BRIGHAM CITY — Northridge outscored Box Elder 22-14 in the fourth quarter to force overtime, then 13-10 in extra time for a region road win.

Theo Roach led all scorers with 24 points and three 3-pointers for Northridge (10-11, 3-7 Region 5). Daniel Sunkuli tallied 21 points with four treys. Jace Whitear had 19 points and three triples while Howard Hansen added 14 points.

McKay Deem led Box Elder (10-10, 4-5) with 20 points and four 3-pointers. Gunnar Gunderson scored 15 points with two treys. Krew Peterson and Janzen Vranes each added 13 points, with Peterson hitting three triples.

BEAR RIVER 53, GREEN CANYON 49

GARLAND — Bear River shot 4-of-4 from the foul line to close out the game in a tight region win over Green Canyon (14-8, 8-5 Region 11).

Cutler Christensen led Bear River (9-13, 6-7) with 15 points. Kaser Thurgood scored 12 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

CLEARFIELD 73, ROY 32

ROY — Clearfield outscored Roy 21-9 in the second quarter to take a 44-22 lead into the break on the way to a region road win and all but lock up a top-two finish in Region 5.

Isabelle Wyaskett led all scorers with 20 points on four 3-pointers and eight rebounds for Clearfield (13-7, 8-1 Region 5). Brighton Bernards added 19 points and eight rebounds while Ciara De La O scored 16 points with three triples.

Jazzi Prieto led Roy (0-20, 0-10 Region 5) with 10 points and Lily Solomona scored eight.

WEST FIELD 59, BONNEVILLE 36

TAYLOR — West Field outscored Bonneville 33-12 in the second half to claim a region win.

Jordyn Mendoza hit six 3-pointers for a game-high 18 points to lead West Field (10-11, 5-5 Region 5). Tahlia Munoz scored 11 points and Kenzie Bagby added 10 points with two treys.

Whitni Johnson paced Bonneville (9-11, 4-5) with 12 points and three 3-pointers. Adisyn Stone and Charity McDonald each scored seven points.

NORTHRIDGE 41, BOX ELDER 33

BRIGHAM CITY — Northridge led 21-13 at the half and kept that advantage in a region road win.

Morgan Hale led all scorers with 12 points for Northridge (4-16, 4-6 Region 5). Rihanna May added 11 points.

Marley Barber led Box Elder (8-12, 3-6) with seven points and Milley Barber scored six.
