Prep basketball roundup: Fremont, Clearfield, Northridge girls grab region wins

TAYLOR — Fremont High girls basketball ran out to a 52-12 halftime lead in an 80-28 region win Saturday at West Field.

Abby Christensen led all scorers with 21 points on three 3-pointers for Fremont (9-2, 2-0 Region 5). Mia Smith added 18 points and two treys. Maya Jensen tallied 11 points.

Kylee Mueller led West Field (6-6, 1-1) with eight points. Kennedee Solomon added four points while Meghan Peterson and Kendyl Kapp each scored three points.

CLEARFIELD 55, BONNEVILLE 34

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Clearfield jumped out to a 17-6 lead after one quarter in a region win at Bonneville.

Ciara De La O scored 18 points with three 3-pointers, four steals and four assists to lead Clearfield (7-5, 2-0 Region 5). Isabelle Wyaskett added 11 points, four steals and four assists. Brighton Bernards hauled in seven rebounds.

Bonneville (5-7, 0-1) did not report stats.

NORTHRIDGE 57, ROY 31

LAYTON — Northridge led 9-5 after the first quarter, then outscored Roy 12-4 in the second stanza to take control in region win.

Maureen Pulu led Northridge (1-11, 1-1 Region 5) with 14 points and three 3-pointers. Lauren Terrando added 13 points with two treys and Kayla Stevenson tallied 12 points with two 3-pointers.

Lily Solomona scored 14 points to pace Roy (0-12, 0-2 Region 5). Jazzi Prieto added 10 points with two 3-pointers.

SYRACUSE 56, PAYSON 27

SYRACUSE — Syracuse outscored Payson 47-14 over the final three quarters in a home win.

Maylee Anderson led Syracuse (10-3) with 18 points and four 3-pointers. Karsyn Visser added three treys on her way to 11 points.

PLEASANT GROVE 46, DAVIS 39

KAYSVILLE — Davis trailed 25-18 at the half in a home loss to Pleasant Grove on Friday.

Kate Willard led Davis (7-5) with 13 points on three 3-pointers and eight rebounds. Cambell Christensen scored nine points while Kiara Zwonitzer tallied seven points and three steals.

BEAR RIVER 78, BEN LOMOND 9

GARLAND — Bear River held Ben Lomond to one point in the second half in a big home win Friday.

Maylee Higley led Bear River (6-7) with 18 points on four 3-pointers, six assists and six steals. Kanyon Allsup scored 16 points with two treys. Bailey Roberts added 10 points and Olivia Fry had nine rebounds.

Hadley Chadwick paced Ben Lomond (3-9) with four points and five steals. Trinytee Martinez tallied three points and six rebounds.

OGDEN 40, SOUTH SUMMIT 28

KAMAS — Ogden took a 29-14 lead into halftime in a Friday win at South Summit.

Salote Tonga led Ogden (7-6) with 13 points. Millie Nadolski added 10 points and Taylor Duke scored five.

MORGAN 79, BEAR RIVER 53

MORGAN — Morgan jumped out to an 8-0 lead early in the first quarter and kept the pressure on to give Trojans coach Scott Hunt a big win over his former team.

Bracken Saunders led all scorers with 25 points for Morgan (8-2). Jake Hansen added 20 points. Mason Williams tallied a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds and Brody Peterson scored 12.

Kaser Thurgood led Bear River (5-8) with 15 points. Beckham Reese added nine points.

CLEARFIELD 66, BONNEVILLE 44

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Clearfield led 20-9 after the first quarter in a region win at Bonneville.

Clearfield (5-7, 2-0 Region 5) did not report stats.

Bryson Landis scored 19 points for Bonneville (2-10, 0-1) and Jackson Call added eight points.

OGDEN 57, CEDAR 55

CEDAR CITY — Ogden led 44-34 after three quarters and held off a Cedar rally for a road win.

Jackson Maw led Ogden (8-4) with 15 points. Briggs Galbraith scored 13 points with three 3-pointers. Tayson Porter added 11 points.

WASATCH 68, WEBER 60

PLEASANT VIEW — Weber trailed 51-40 after three quarters in a home loss to Wasatch.

Thomas Packer hit six 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 24 points for Weber (6-6). Carson Hill scored nine points and Derik Bowden added eight points.

PLEASANT GROVE 58, DAVIS 56

PLEASANT GROVE — Davis led 32-25 at the half but couldn’t withstand a Pleasant Grove rally in a Friday road loss.

Cameron Brower paced Davis (8-3) with 17 points on three 3-pointers and six rebounds. Tradon Bessinger added 14 points and six rebounds. JT Turley tallied 11 points and seven assists.
