Prep basketball roundup: West Field girls outlast Bonneville in OT; Clearfield boys get Roy

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Bonneville High girls basketball outscored West Field 33-25 in the second half to force overtime, then the Longhorns used an 8-4 extra-time advantage to grab a 64-60 region road win.

Kylee Mueller paced West Field (8-6, 3-1 Region 5) with 17 points. Tahila Munoz added 15 points on five 3-pointers while Rylee Andreasen scored 11 points.

Baya Jimenez scored a game-high 18 points with four 3-pointers for Bonneville (6-8, 1-2). Mylie Miera tallied 11 points with two treys. Ema Eskelsen added eight points.

SYRACUSE 54, LAYTON 34

SYRACUSE — Syracuse took a 14-4 lead after one quarter and kept the pressure on in a region win over Layton.

Brighton Goddard led all scorers with 12 points and two 3-pointers for Syracuse (11-3, 1-0 Region 1). Maylee Anderson, Zaydie Peterson and Mindy McNeill each scored 10 points, with Anderson hitting three 3-pointers and Peterson making two treys.

Hadley Collier and Kenley Bennie each scored eight points for Layton (5-7, 0-1). Collier had two 3-pointers.

CLEARFIELD 62, ROY 20

CLEARFIELD — Clearfield outscored Roy 34-2 across the second and third quarters in a big region win.

Jayla Kearns led all scorers with 19 points and six rebounds for Clearfield (8-6, 3-0 Region 5). Ciara De La O tallied 12 points with two 3-pointers. Isabelle Wyaskett and Destini Gomez each scored eight points, with Wyaskett adding eight rebounds and four assists while Gomez hit two treys.

Jazzi Prieto led Roy (0-14, 0-4) with two 3-pointers and four rebounds. Aniyah Gomez hit a trey for three points.

OGDEN 49, LOGAN 13

LOGAN — Ogden held Logan (6-7, 0-2 Region 12) to one point between the first and third quarters for a blowout road win.

Hazel Nadolski scored 13 points to lead Ogden (8-7, 1-1). Juliet Knowles scored nine points, Lauretta Taukiuvea six and Megan Beus six.

LAYTON CHRISTIAN 72, BEN LOMOND 14

LAYTON — Layton Christian won the first quarter 32-1 on Thursday.

Layton Christian (8-6, 2-0 Region 12) did not report stats.

Nheyma Simpson led Ben Lomond (3-11, 0-2) with six points.

GREEN CANYON 50, BEAR RIVER 35

GARLAND — Bear River couldn’t overcome a 36-18 halftime doubling in a home loss to Green Canyon (12-2, 6-0 Region 11) on Thursday.

Maylee Higley led Bear River (6-9, 1-5) with nine points on three 3-pointers. Ava Driggs added eight points.

CLEARFIELD 60, ROY 53

CLEARFIELD — Clearfield took a 16-9 lead after one quarter and held that lead in a region win over Roy.

Bode Davis led Clearfield (6-8, 3-0 Region 5) with 13 points. Alyric Kelly added 12 points and five rebounds. Jack Galvan tallied a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards.

Boston Greenhalgh led all scorers with 18 points and two assists for Roy (11-4, 3-1). Jakob Hamblin had 15 points and seven rebounds. KK Kennedy posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

WEST FIELD 64, BONNEVILLE 49

WASHINGTON TERRACE — West Field led 41-20 at the half in a region win at Bonneville.

Daxton Laughter scored 20 points to lead West Field (9-4, 4-0 Region 5). Drew Faddis added 18 points and Cason Malan tallied 13 points.

Jackson Call scored a game-high 25 points for Bonneville (2-12, 0-3). Bryson Landis added 10 points.

BOX ELDER 75, NORTHRIDGE 63

LAYTON — Eli Gilmore scored 29 points with two 3-pointers to lead Box Elder to a region win at Northridge.

McKay Deem added 17 points and two treys for Box Elder (6-8, 1-2 Region 5). Gunnar Gunderson tallied 12 points and two 3-pointers while Krew Peterson had 11 points.

Jett Williams led Northridge (7-8, 0-4) with 12 points and two 3-pointers. Theo Roach tallied 11 points. Yahir Ferrer, Daniel Sunkuli and Howard Hansen each scored 10 points.

AM HERITAGE 95, BEN LOMOND 59

AMERICAN FORK — Taggart Bush scored 15 points and Kru Boyle added nine but Ben Lomond (3-13, 0-2 Region 12) dropped a region contest at American Heritage (9-6, 2-0).

LOGAN 52, OGDEN 39

OGDEN — Ogden led 16-11 after one quarter but was outscored 41-23 the rest of the way in a home region loss to formerly winless Logan (1-13, 1-1 Region 12).

Ryan Kirkland scored a game-high 18 points for Ogden (9-7, 0-2). Jackson Maw added seven points.
