Prep roundup: Weber soccer tops Ben Lomond in extra time; spring sports results

OGDEN — Masen Keyes scored on a penalty kick with one minute left in the first period of extra time to lead Weber High boys soccer to a 1-0 win at Ben Lomond (1-1) on Thursday.

Tayson Bell kept the clean sheet for Weber (2-0).

SYRACUSE 3, SPANISH FORK 0

SYRACUSE — Kison Berry and Kameron Bourque shared the clean sheet as Syracuse shut out Spanish Fork.

Tate Jacobs had a goal and an assist for Syracuse (1-0). Ander Barillas and Wyatt Affleck each netted once. Brix Cragun assisted one goal.

ST. JOSEPH 8, UTAH MILITARY 3

OGDEN — St. Joseph took a 5-0 lead into halftime in a region win over Utah Military Academy-Hill Field on Wednesday.

St. Joseph (1-0, 1-0 Region 17) did not report stats.

Ian Patino scored two goals for UMA (1-2, 0-2). William Reinier netted once. Tanner Larsen and Grayson Heiner each tallied one assist.

OREM 2, BONNEVILLE 1

OREM — Korvin Linford scored in the first half but it wasn’t enough as Bonneville (0-2) fell at Orem on Wednesday.

OGDEN 10, WEBER 5

OGDEN — Ogden opened its revamped baseball field with an eight-run sixth inning to take down Weber on Wednesday.

Easton Green hit 3 for 3 with a triple and two runs scored in the leadoff spot for Ogden (1-0). Spencer Deichman batted 3 for 4 with three runs scored. Jonah Holmes doubled and drove in three runs. The Tigers used five pitchers to hold Weber to three hits while striking out 10 and walking nine.

Cooper Johnson and Keldyn Hubbard each drew three walks to get things moving on the bases for Weber (0-1). Henry Phipps doubled and drove in two runs.

DAVIS 13, VIEWMONT 3

KAYSVILLE — Sophomore Cam Moody batted 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs to lead Davis past Viewmont on Wednesday.

Camden Schoenfeld went 2 of 3 with a double and three RBIs for Davis (2-0). Kaleb Weaver batted 2 for 2 and scored two runs. Lincoln Green hit a two-run double and Tanner Jensen hit an RBI triple. Green got the win with four hits and five strikeouts over four innings.

LAYTON 7, RIDGELINE 5

MILLVILLE — Will Hoffman batted 2 for 4 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored to lead Layton to a win at Ridgeline on Wednesday.

Nik Bielaczyc went 1 for 2 with a solo home run and scored three runs for Layton (1-0). Burkon Beus batted 2 for 3 with a double and two runs scored

ROY 4, SKY VIEW 2

ROY — Roy took a 4-0 lead into the seventh inning and closed a win over Sky View on Wednesday.

Kruz Williams hit two doubles and scored two runs for Roy (2-0). Julian Teran and Parker Skidmore each singled. Jace Barela pitched six innings with three hits and two strikeouts for the win.

WEST FIELD 7, WOODS CROSS 4

WOODS CROSS — Wyatt Penrod batted 4 for 4 with two triples and two RBIs as West Field won at Woods Cross on Wednesday.

Grady Garrett went 2 for 4 and scored one run for West Field (1-0). Sam Smith hit a two-run double. Ricardo Rodriguez earned the win with one hit and one strikeout over two innings.

Lyla Leonhardt singled, drew a walk and scored four runs for Clearfield (1-0). Skylar Davis batted 2 for 4 and scored twice. Emma Dishongh went 2 for 4 and drove in two, while Ariana Sanchez added two hits.

COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS — Grady Call scored three goals but West Field fell behind in the second quarter in a road loss Tuesday.

Lincoln Miller added one goal and three assists for West FIeld (0-1). Carter Thornock recorded 10 saves in goal.


GIRLS LACROSSE

CLEARFIELD — Jenika Wagstaff punched in five goals as Clearfield won at home Wednesday.
