Prep roundup: West Field softball takes down Bonneville; region games begin
TAYLOR — West Field High softball took an eight-run lead after three innings in a 13-3, five-inning region win over Bonneville on Tuesday.
Kadence Dyson batted 3 for 3 with a triple, a double and two RBIs for West Field (6-2, 3-0 Region 5). Kam Bell hit a three-run double. Rylee Andreasen went 2 for 4 and drove in one. Brinklee Hadley got the win with five hits, three earned runs, two walks and eight strikeouts.
Marley Chournos hit two solo home runs for Bonneville (1-3, 1-3). Avery Rich added an RBI single.
OGDEN 16, BEN LOMOND 6
OGDEN — Ogden led 11-1 after two innings in a five-inning win over Ben Lomond.
Lauretta Taylor batted 3 for 4 with five RBIs for Ogden (4-4, 1-1 Region 12). Baelee Ulm and Madi Arney each hit an RBI single. Isabella Luedtke drove in two on a hit-by-pitch and two walks, and Hazel Nodalsky drove in two on two walks.
Aliyah Gonzalez batted 2 for 3 with three RBIs for Ben Lomond (0-6, 0-1). Breannah Lamere-Alvarado went 2 for 3 and scored two runs. Ailin Gonzalez hit an RBI single and Brooklyn Richey drove in one.
BOX ELDER 17, ROY 2
BRIGHAM CITY — Box Elder scored eight runs in the fourth inning to trigger the run rule in a region win over Roy.
Kailee Hall batted 4 for 4 with two home runs, a triple and three RBIs for Box Elder (6-0, 3-0 Region 5). Kennadie Blackmer hit a home run, a double and drove in four. Madeline Jeppsen hit a triple and a single with three RBIs. Freshman Maycie Moss earned the win with three hits, two earned runs, two walks and seven strikeouts.
Lorelai Sherrod, Promise Ngyne and Brynlee Pearle each hit a single for Roy (2-4, 2-2).
FREMONT 16, NORTHRIDGE 1
LAYTON — Fremont took an 8-0 lead before Northridge batted in a four-inning region road win.
Cara Henrie batted 2 for4 with a home run and four RBIs for Fremont (4-4, 1-1 Region 5). Olivia Broadbent went 4 for 4 with a double and drove in four. Chloe Clark hit a double and a single with three RBIs. Adelaide Johnsen got the win with no hits, three walks and three strikeouts over two innings.
Kaylee Shirreffs hit an RBI double for Northridge (3-5, 0-2). Madisyn LeCour and Jordyn Anderson each hit singles.
CLEARFIELD 8, VIEWMONT 5
CLEARFIELD — Clearfield scored four runs in the fourth inning to turn a 5-3 deficit into a win over Viewmont.
Skylar Davis hit a two-run home run for Clearfield (8-1). Brynn Nicholls went 2 for 3 with one RBI. Alexandra Bingham hit a single and drove in three. Hannah Hensley gave up 12 hits, five earned runs and had six strikeouts in a complete game.
BOX ELDER 5, GRANTSVILLE 2
GRANTSVILLE — Box Elder took the lead with two runs in the fourth for a win Monday at Grantsville.
Kennadie Blackmer batted 2 for 4 with a home run, a double and two RBIs, and pitched a complete game with one earned run, five hits and 12 strikeouts for Box Elder (5-0).
Kailee Hall went 3 for 4 with a double and drove in one. Maclee Willard batted 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Quincey Lish and Madeline Jeppsen each hit two singles while Olivia Daniels hit a double.
BEAR RIVER 15, LOGAN 5
GARLAND — Bear River triggered the run rule with seven runs in the fifth in a win over Logan on Monday.
Londyn Gamble batted 2 for 4 with a solo hine run for Bear River (7-2). Molly Canfield and Paycie Richards each batted 3 for 4 with a double and combined for three RBIs. Kailyn Rose batted 2 for 2 with a triple and three RBIs.
Kate Wilson batted 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs and pitched a complete game with three earned runs, four hits and six strikeouts.

GRANTSVILLE — Ogden scored eight first-half goals in a region win at Grantsville (3-4, 0-2 Region 12).
Xavier Peregina kept the clean sheet for Ogden (7-0, 2-0) Ty Ward paced the offense with two goals and one assist. Zeke Snow and Jace Rodriguez each had one goal and two assists. Eli Robinson and Harry Haskins tallied one goal and one assist apiece. Adam Jenks and Parley Gladwell each netted one goal. Sam Galbraith assisted two scores.

CLEARFIELD — Syracuse scored once in each half in a win at Clearfield.
Tate Jacobs and Skyler Orton each netted for Syracuse (4-1). Brighton Wade and Wyatt Affleck each tallied one assist.

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Julian Teran batted 2 for 4 with two doubles and three RBIs to lead Roy to a region win at Bonneville.
Cache Summers hit an RBI double for Roy (4-3, 1-0 Region 5). Jace Barela batted 2 for 4 with three RBIs. Parker Skidmore and Kruz Williams each had two hits and one RBI. Skidmore got the win, allowing two earned runs on six hits, totaling six strikeouts and one walk.
Chris Redd led Bonneville (4-4, 0-1) with an RBI triple. Daniel Zornes and Brycen Munford each had two hits.
WEST FIELD 7, NORTHRIDGE 6
TAYLOR — Northridge scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a 6-4 lead, then West Field responded with three runs in the bottom half for a walkoff region win.
Marshal Moon hit a solo home run for West Field (3-3, 1-0 Region 5). Grady Garrett hit a three-run double. Sam Smith hit two doubles and drove in one. Kayson Taylor added a double. Bryce Bagby got the win with six hits, three earned runs, one walk and five strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings.
Nixon Brimley hit two doubles and drove in four for Northridge (0-5, 0-1). Isaac Anderson hit an RBI double.
FREMONT 12, CLEARFIELD 2
PLAIN CITY — Adam Mikesell drove in six runs, Fremont scored six runs in the second inning and added six more in the sixth, and the Silverwolves run-ruled Clearfield in a region opener.
Mikesell batted 3 for 3 with a home run, a double and two runs scored to pace Fremont (1-2, 1-0 Region 5). Ashur Clark hit two doubles. Kaden Pearson and Tad Grange each hit a double and a single and drove in one.
Drew Bremer batted 2 for 3 for Clearfield (0-6, 0-1). Brady Reynolds and Brodie Deal each hit a single and drove in one.
BEAR RIVER 11, BOUNTIFUL 1
GARLAND — Stephen Starnes pitched a six-inning one-hitter with five strikeouts against seven walks to beat Bountiful.
Dallin Bevan hit an RBI triple for Bear River (8-0). Broxton Gardner hit two doubles and drove in two. Boston White hit a double and a single and drove in three. Dallen Rice drove in one on two singles. Bear River trailed 1-0 after the top half of the third inning, then scored 11 straight runs

PEORIA, Ariz. — Davis gave up only three hits in a loss to Lake Havasu (Arizona) at the Best of the West-Arizona tournament.

PEORIA, Ariz. — After scoring two runs in the top of the eighth inning to take an 8-6 lead, Davis gave up three runs in the bottom half of the inning in a walkoff loss to Pinnacle (Arizona) in the Best of the West-Arizona tournament on Monday.
