ST. GEORGE — Box Elder scored 10 runs in the second inning then held off a Hurricane rally for a tournament win at Snow Canyon High School.

Olivia Daniels hit two doubles and drove in five for Box Elder. Kennadie Blackmer batted 2 for 2 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored. Madeline Jeppsen hit two singles and drove in two. Lucy Braegger got the win with eight hits, eight earned runs, four walks and three strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings.

PLAIN CITY — Fremont scored in every frame in a five-inning region win over Clearfield.

Kasen Pearson batted 3 for 4 with a double and four RBIs for Fremont (4-2, 3-0 Region 5). Bodee Hawkins went 2 for 3 with two doubles, two RBIs and scored three runs. Adam Mikesell hit an RBI double and Tad Grange hit a double. Calvin Cooper allowed two earned runs on five hits with four strikeouts and three walks in a complete game.

WEST FIELD 13, NORTHRIDGE 3

TAYLOR — Grady Garrett batted 3 for 4 with a home run, a double and drove in four as West Field got a region win over Northridge in six innings.

Wyatt Penrod went 2 for 3 with a triple and a double and scored three runs for West Field (4-4, 2-1 Region 5). Sam Smith and Brady Penland each hit two doubles and combined for five RBIs. Marshal Moon pitched a complete game allowing three earned runs on eight hits while striking out five and walking one.

Trevin Redd batted 2 for 4 and drove in one for Northridge (1-6, 1-2). Eli Mitchell hit a double.

BOX ELDER 14, FARMINGTON 4

BRIGHAM CITY — Box Elder scored four runs in the fourth inning then four more in the fifth to trigger the run rule to top Farmington for the Bees’ first win.

Maddox Earnest hit a two-run home run for Box Elder (1-6). Korbin Jeppesen batted 3 for 4 and drove in one. Porter Francom went 2 for 2 with a double and three RBIs. Korver Smith got the win with seven hits and four runs over three innings.

BEAR RIVER 11, PARK CITY 1

GARLAND — Chipper Hawes batted 4 for 4 with a double and three RBIs to lead Bear River to a six-inning win over Park City.

Stephen Starnes went 3 for 4 with a double and drove in one for Bear River (9-1). Dallen Rice hit two singles with one RBI. Ethan Higgs got the win with three hits, one run, two walks and nine strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings.
