Ogden Raptors 1st baseman Freddy Achecar named PBL Player of the Week
Ogden Raptors first baseman Freddy Achecar was named Pioneer Baseball League Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Achecar batted .412 with seven base hits, three home runs, 10 RBIs and five runs scored in four games last week for the Raptors against Grand Junction. Ogden went 2-2 in those games. Achecar was one of four players named player of the week.
Sunday’s scheduled game against the Rockies, and subsequently Monday’s doubleheader, were both rained out. The two games will be made up, but that will happen on the road — not at Lindquist Field — when Ogden visits Grand Junction for a road series from June 21-26.
This week, the Raptors are in Boise, Idaho, for their first road trip of the season with a six-game series against the Boise Hawks. Ogden returns to Lindquist Field starting Tuesday, June 7, for a series against the Northern Colorado Owlz (formerly the Orem Owlz).
