Ogden Raptors mascot Oggie fist bumps a child on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at Lindquist Field in Ogden.

Three players hit two home runs each Friday night at Lindquist Field: Dane Tofteland and Rafael Narea for the Ogden Raptors, and Stephen Wilmer for the Rocky Mountain Vibes.

But Ogden’s long balls resulted in seven runs and RMV’s just two as the Raptors won yet again, moving their season record to 31-16 with a 13-4 victory in front of 5,219 fans.

The two teams finish the series, and the first half of the season, at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Lindquist Field.

Jacob Barfield drove a two-run double in the first inning to get the Vibes an early lead, but that was about all the visitors could do against Jake Mulholland. The lefty Ogden starter gave up three runs on six hits and struck out 10 in six innings for the win, moving his record to 5-0.

Wilmer’s first solo homer in the fourth was the only other run Mulholland surrendered. The Vibes (19-27) wouldn’t score again until Wilmer’s second solo homer of the night which came in the ninth inning against Chase Stratton, who otherwise earned a three-inning save by allowing three hits and striking out three.

Ogden scored seven runs in the second inning to take control of the game. That came on two-run homers from Narea and Tofteland each, a Dakota Conners RBI single, and a two-run double from Juan Teixeira.

Narea totaled four RBIs on the night, adding a run-scoring double in the fourth and a solo homer in the eighth. Tofteland also had four RBIs by hitting another two-run shot in the seventh.

Tofteland, who had just four hits and four RBIs in his first 17 games, is 3 for 9 with three home runs and eight RBIs in the last three games.
