OGDEN — It seemed like Ogden’s hot streak might hit a pause Wednesday when Raptors starter Ed Baram surrendered two-run home runs to Idaho Falls players Rob Paller and Trevor Halsema, putting his team in a 4-0 hole after the game’s first half-inning at Lindquist Field.

But in a near duplication of Tuesday when the Raptors got down 3-0 in the first, the Ogden ballclub made it a blip on the way to a route of the Chukars. The Raptors posted 10 runs in the second inning and won by 10 or more runs for the fourth straight night in an 18-4 victory.

Ogden sent 15 batters to the plate in the second inning; three of them hit 2 for 2 in the frame: Damian Henderson (double, single), Rafael Narea (two-run homer, single) and Dakota Conners (two singles). Juan Teixeira hit a two-run single, Sal Gozzo hit a solo homer to right, and Landen Barns finished the 10-run inning with a double to score Narea.

The Raptors (20-11), winners in 10 of their last 12 games, added more in the third inning: Logan Williams launched a three-run homer off the top of the scoreboard in left field, and the designated hitter Henderson hit a solo rocket that singed the top of the fence in right field, a 108 mph liner that left the park in a hurry.

Baram allowed zero runs on three hits over his final five innings, picking up the win.

Reese Alexiades and Williams led off the seventh just missing home runs, each doubling off the wall in left-center instead, and burly Dane Tofteland — who made several great plays in right field and at third base — broke through using his bat with an RBI double to left. He later scored on a sacrifice fly and Ogden led 17-4.

Alexiades’ streak of four straight games with a home run ended there; he settled for three doubles. He, Williams, Henderson and Nick Ultsch each had three hits as Ogden totaled 22.

Chase Stratton threw the final three innings for Ogden, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out two.

The two teams finish the series at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
