Following the 4-4 regulation and Knockout loss, the Raptors have won games of 12-11, 15-10, 17-11 and 18-13, the latter a Saturday night triumph to improve Ogden to 39-31 overall and 13-10 in the second half.
Ogden used smallball and Colorado Springs (18-52, 9-14) miscues to go up 7-0 after three innings. The Sky Sox tallied a five-run fourth against Ogden starter Chase Chatman, the only runs he allowed in a start that otherwise went five innings, allowing four hits while striking outs seven.
Sebastian Greico’s two-run homer helped the Raptors stretch that lead back to 10-5 through four.
Colorado Springs twice made it a game again. Brett Roberts homered in the sixth to make it 10-8, but True Fontenot’s two-run double and Connor Bagnieski’s two-RBI single in the bottom half made it 14-8.
The Sky Sox tallied three RBI doubles in the top of the eighth to trim the score to 15-13, but Cole Jordan’s two-run single in the bottom half capped the scoring at 18-13.
Cameron Edmondson got the save for Ogden, the team’s only no-runs pitcher, with one hit allowed and one strikeout in 1 1/3 innings. Fontenot and Bagnieski each drove in three runs while Elliott Good hit 4 for 5 and scored three runs.
