Ogden Raptors have series opener at Great Falls suspended by rain Friday

By Staff | Jul 4, 2025

The Ogden Raptors exited the Fourth of July having not posted a game result in two days due to rain.

After Thursday’s series finale at Idaho Falls was canceled due to rain, a storm caused the suspension of Friday’s opener at Great Falls in the middle of the sixth inning with the score tied 5-5.

According to a Voyagers’ Instagram post, the game will resume at 6 p.m. Saturday. The regularly scheduled Saturday game will follow as a seven-inning contest.

The two teams then conclude the series at 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

Great Falls first baseman Frank Podkul hit a third-inning grand slam off Ogden starter Chase Chatman to put the Voyagers up 5-0.

The Raptors piled up eight hits across the fourth and fifth innings to tie things up against Great Falls starter CJ Czerwinksi. Dylan Wilkinson hit a two-run single and Damian Stone an RBI double in the fourth, while True Fontenot (sacrifice fly) and Wilkinson again (single) added one run each in the fifth to knot things at 5-5.

Czerwinski had just left a Raptor on second base and cleaned up to exit the top of the sixth when the game was paused at 8:48 p.m. for a rain delay, which became a suspension.

Starting at $4.32/week.
