Fans queue at the gates of Lindquist Field before an Ogden Raptors baseball game Saturday, June 14, 2025, in Ogden.Part of the trickling effects of the Northern Colorado Owlz closing shop and withdrawing from the Pioneer Baseball League in late June means Ogden Raptors fans get extra games at Lindquist Field, and for a discounted price.
The Pioneer League took over operations of the Owlz for the remainder of the 2025 season to keep the 12-team schedule intact and moved them to Colorado Springs, rebranding the club as the Sky Sox. The Rocky Mountain Vibes already call Colorado Springs and BlockTickets Park home.
That takes us to the week of July 29 through Aug. 3. The Raptors were previously scheduled to play at Northern Colorado that week but, now in Colorado Springs, Rocky Mountain also has a home series that week against Grand Junction.
So that series against the now-Sky Sox will take place in Ogden, which means Raptors players and fans can enjoy 18 consecutive home games at Lindquist Field. That stretch begins Tuesday when the Boise Hawks arrive in Ogden for a six-game series.
To lay it out plainly, the Raptors’ upcoming schedule now looks like this:
July 22-27: Boise at Ogden
July 29-Aug. 3: Colorado Springs at Ogden
Aug. 5-10: Colorado Springs at Ogden
The middle series, from July 29 through Aug. 3, comes with some changes.
Raptors general manager Trever Wilson told the Standard-Examiner that tickets that week will be $5 general admission throughout the ballpark. Ogden will also play those games as the visiting team.
Start times won’t change, however. First pitch remains at 6:30 p.m. for those games, with a 1 p.m. Sunday matinee.
The Owlz withdrew from the league amid ongoing legal battles the ownership faced in its sports complex and unfinished construction in Windsor, Colorado.
The Owlz franchise began in the Pioneer League in 2001, playing as the Provo Angels (2001-04), the Orem Owlz (2005-19) and Northern Colorado Owlz (2022-25). The Sky Sox was the name of the former Triple-A team in Colorado Springs, which relocated to Texas in 2019, becoming the San Antonio Missions.
