Ogden Raptors catcher Chris Sargent, left, reaches to tag out Yuba-Sutter's Parker Caddou (5) in a play at the plate Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Lindquist Field in Ogden.

Chris Sargent socked his 20th home run of the season, Connor Bagnieski hit his ninth, and both have homered four times in their last five games as the Ogden Raptors opened an 18-game homestand with an 11-5 win over the Boise Hawks on Tuesday night.

Bagnieski’s three-run shot capped a seven-run fourth inning for Ogden (29-25, 3-4 second half) and put the home team in the driver’s seat 7-1 in front of 4,185 fans who welcomed Boise (32-23, 2-5) manager Kash Beauchamp back to Lindquist Field for the first time since he coached the Raptors to the 2023 Pioneer League championship.

That seven-run fourth inning all went on the ledger of Boise starter Cameron Dayton, who recorded just one out in the frame before exiting.

Lefty Chase Chatman, meanwhile, pitched around five walks and surrendered one run over five innings to pick up the win for Ogden. Chatman allowed four hits and struck out four.

Elliott Good and Kyler Stancato added RBI groundouts in the fifth to build a 9-1 lead.

Sargent’s solo shot in the eighth gave him No. 20 and boosted his RBI total to 81. But Boise’s Max Jung-Goldberg hit a solo homer in the ninth (his 17th) to bump him to 84 RBIs and keep pace above Sargent atop the PBL table.

Jung-Goldberg hit 3 for 4 to lead the Hawks at the plate, accounting for one-third of the team’s nine hits.

Sargent and designated hitter Damian Stone each hit 3 for 5 and scored two runs for the Raptors. Good, Stancato and Kenny Oyama each drove in two runs as part of a 16-hit night for the home team.

The two teams play again at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Starting at $4.32/week.
