Ogden Raptors helmets sit on an equipment room shelf on May 23, 2025, at Lindquist Field in Ogden.

Colorado Springs piled up four hits, three walks and also scored on a wild pitch in a decisive five-run third inning that Ogden unsuccessfully chased the rest of the way, and the Sky Sox defeated the Raptors 8-6 on Thursday night at Lindquist Field in Pioneer Baseball League action.

Rolando Gutierrez Rosario took the loss for Ogden, issuing everything but one of the hits in that third inning. Edwin Martinez Pagani’s two-run single finally knocked Rosario out of the game with the score 5-1; Nico Saltaformaggio took over and surrendered an RBI single to Kamau Neighbors before getting out of the inning.

That 6-1 Sky Sox lead well undid Damian Stone’s solo home run to lead off the game in the first. Ogden (33-29, 7-8 second half) is hosting Colorado Springs (16-46, 7-8) at Lindquist Field but is playing as the visiting team due to a conflict that moved the series to Ogden. Tickets are $5 general admission through Sunday, Aug. 3. The decision ended a five-game skid for the Sky Sox.

Matthew Lauria got the win for Colorado Springs, holding the Raptors to just the Stone solo homer through six innings, allowing five hits while striking out two and walking three.

Lauria did take the mound in the seventh when the Raptors finally broke through; Walker Hultgren drew a leadoff walk and scored on a Cole Jordan double, ending Lauria’s night.

Ogden got it as close as 7-6 when Connor Bagnieski launched a two-run homer to left in the top of the eighth.

Sky Sox third baseman Zane Denton hit an RBI double against Cameron Edmondson in the bottom of the eighth for the final tally.

Kyler Stancato (two innings) and Nick Agacki (one inning) allowed one hit and struck out five in three scoreless middle innings for Ogden’s bullpen. Carmine Lane hit 3 for 4 to lead the Raptors at the plate. Surging Chris Sargent drew two walks but otherwise went hitless and without an RBI, pausing his home-run and RBI streak.

Denton and Quintt Landis each hit 3 for 4 to lead Colorado Springs.

The two teams play again at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Starting at $4.32/week.
