Ogden Raptors player Elliott Good (29) slides home for a run against the Oakland Ballers, Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Raimondi Park in Oakland, Calif.

The Ogden Raptors quickly made sure two straight slow offensive games didn’t turn into three Sunday afternoon, jumping ahead in the first inning on the way to an 8-2 win at Raimondi Park in Oakland, splitting a series 3-3 with the Ballers to open the season.

Over Friday and Saturday, the Raptors played 17 innings with six total hits but broke out Sunday with four hits in the first frame. After two hits and a walk loaded the bases, Elliott Good drove in two with a single and Carter Mize singled home another to put Ogden ahead 3-0 before Oakland had a turn to answer.

The Raptors gave up 25 runs in those two losses but newcomer Miguel Hernandez had the answer for Ogden on Sunday, spreading seven hits in 5 1/3 innings, striking out six and walking two.

Hernandez left the game in the sixth with his team leading 7-1; Damian Stone, Cole Jordan and Connor Bagnieski each drove in one in the fourth and Bagnieski added a sacrifice fly in the sixth. On the mound, the Raptors got 2 2/3 one-hit scoreless innings from Shawn Triplett and Cameron Edmondson to help wrap things up.

Good made it 8-1 in the ninth with his third RBI of the game on a single; all 11 Ogden hits were singles.

The Raptors return home for a six-game homestand against the Yuba-Sutter (formerly Yolo) High Wheelers — the defending Pioneer League champions — with the home opener at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Single-game tickets and other packages are available at goraptorsgo.com or by calling 801-393-2450.

Starting at $4.32/week.
