Ogden Raptors palyer Cole Jordan rounds third base during a game against the Boise Hawks on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, at Lindquist Field in Ogden.

Everything came together for the Ogden Raptors to reach the Pioneer Baseball League playoffs, returning to the postseason for the first time since winning the 2023 league title and bouncing back from a 41-55 campaign in 2024.

With a chance to clinch, Ogden (52-43) brought it home on a Friday that proved to be the PBL’s final moving day, with every domino falling to lock in playoff positioning.

The Raptors rallied from a deficit Friday to defeat the Boise Hawks 15-11 in front of 4,131 fans, Ogden’s fourth straight victory to start its final homestand.

The Raptors singled for 14 of their 16 hits; after Boise’s Jake Hjelle homered to tie it 11-11 in the seventh, Ogden used a sacrifice fly, two bases-loaded walks, and an Elliott Good RBI single to secure the final margin.

Cole Jordan and Dylan Wilkinson each drove in three runs, and Christian Hall and True Fontenot each totaled three hits. Nik Cardinal got the win in two innings of middle relief.

Elsewhere, Missoula split a doubleheader with Yuba-Sutter to simultaneously knock the High Wheelers farther away from Ogden and keep Billings from qualifying for the playoffs via second-half standings, especially because Billings lost to Colorado Springs.

With the regular season concluding Sunday, the Raptors slotted into fourth place and will head to this year’s behemoth for the first round of the playoffs: the Oakland Ballers (73-22), winners of the PBL’s overall, first- and second-half titles, will host the Raptors in a best-of-three series scheduled for Sept. 11-13.

Idaho Falls (54-41) travels to Missoula (63-32) for the other playoff series. Winners advance to a newly expanded, best-of-five championship series scheduled for Sept. 16-21.

The Raptors brought back the PBL’s attendance crown this season after the Boise Hawks became the first team in 27 years to wrest the title away from Ogden in 2024. The Raptors averaged 3,338 fans per game to Boise’s 3,241; those two are the only teams above 2,400 fans per game this season.

Starting at $4.32/week.
