The Utah Mammoth are hitting the road for the second summer.

“Mammoth Week” is returning to cities across Utah, including Ogden, as the NHL club takes a traveling mini-festival to the fans.

Ogden’s stop comes Tuesday, Sept. 1, from 5-7 p.m. at the Weber County Ice Sheet.

People from the Utah Mammoth organization set up pop-up experiences (the 2025 version featured face painting, photo opportunities and street hockey), giveaways and more. This year, the team says it’s hosting “affordable” on-ice clinics inside and free street hockey clinics outside.

“Attendees will also have the opportunity to connect with surprise guests, including Mammoth players at select events across the state,” a news release from the team reads.

WEBER STATE SOCCER VOTED NO. 1

Weber State women’s soccer is the favorite to win the Big Sky, according to a preseason coaches’ vote released Wednesday.

Weber State received five out of 10 first-place votes to edge Idaho at the top of the poll in which coaches predict the league finish but do not vote for themselves.

The Wildcats experienced a resurgence in 2025 under first-year head coach Kyle Christensen, going 12-6-2 overall and finishing 5-2-1 in league play — one point behind league champion Montana. WSU defeated Northern Arizona in the tournament semifinals and lost in a penalty shootout to Montana in the title match.

Weber State also had four players voted to the 13-player preseason all-conference team: midfielders Lily Blum and Oakley Anderson, defender Isabella Sackett and goalkeeper Lauren Butorac.

The Wildcats unofficially open the 2026 season Friday with a 7 p.m. exhibition against Salt Lake Community College. The season begins Aug. 12 at Utah and WSU’s home opener is Aug. 16, hosting Boise State at 6 p.m.

Eight-year Montana head coach Chris Citowicki left after the season to take the head coaching job at Washington State, taking 10 Griz players with him and resulting in a drop sending Montana to No. 7 in this year’s preseason poll. (He’ll also coach Layton High alum Calli Holje in Pulllman).

Northern Arizona forward Micala Boex was voted preseason MVP.
