Given the state’s world-class facilities for winter sports, several non-Utah natives now call the state home or attended college in Utah. For example, the Park Record reports 16% of Team USA hails from Park City, either as natives or current residents.

So of those 81 athletes, 72 will compete for the United States and, of those, 14 are natives of Utah.

The Utah natives on Team USA are as follows:

Mary Bocock (Salt Lake City, Alpine skiing), Rosie Brennan (Park City, cross-country skiing), Casey Dawson (Park City, speedskating), Ashley Farquharson (Park City, luge), Marin Hamill (Park City, freeski), Rell Harwood (Park City, freeski), Josie Johnson (Park City, ski jumping), Paige Jones (Park City, ski jumping), Kaysha Love (Herriman, bobsled), Nick Page (Park City, moguls), Troy Podmilsak (Park City, freeski), Tasia Tanner (Salt Lake City, aerials), Faye Thelen (Salt Lake City, snowboard cross), Isabella Wright (Salt Lake City, Alpine skiing).

The Utah Sports Commission considers an athlete from Utah of they are from the state, currently live or train in Utah, or attended school in the state.

A total of 14 of these athletes have Olympic medals, with four gold medal winners: Alex Hall (Beijing 2022), Erin Jackson (Beijing 2022), Chris Lillis (Beijing 2022), and Lindsey Vonn (Vancouver 2010).
