Ogden Marathon runners make their way around Ogden Valley on Saturday, May 17, 2025, in Eden.

OGDEN — A new, three-part trail running series is coming to town with the O-Sho Trail Series, organized by the Trails Foundation of Northern Utah, to be held April 9, June 4 and Sept. 17, along the Bonneville Shoreline Trail.

With three opportunities to participate, the foundation is calling to everyone, experienced trailheads and first-time runners, to join them for its 5K series — generally 3.1 miles in length — beginning Thursday, April 9, at the 27th Street Trailhead. All races will begin on 27th Street at 6:15 p.m.

“We’re thrilled to see the O-Sho Trail Series come to life,” said Erin Anzalone, TFNU Development & Community Partnership Director.

“Not only will the event itself be filled with great vibes and stellar views, but we get to connect with people who are actively supporting the trails right under their feet. The Bonneville Shoreline Trail (BST) is a special place, and it needs consistent maintenance and repair work. Each race participant is helping us keep the BST a thriving, one-of-a-kind trail in our community.”

Participants can register online via the official O-Sho Trail Series page at UltraSignup.com. Registration begins at $35 per race or $90 for a series pass.

Each race will award the first-, second- and third-place finishers among male and female participants, respectively.

With participation in the series, the foundation is eager to improve accessibility and maintenance of the area’s trail systems.

“Trails bring people together, and the O-Sho Trail Series 5K is all about creating a space where everyone — from first-time runners to lifelong trail users — can experience the joy of being outside,” said Aric W. Manning, TFNU Executive Director. “This event isn’t just about running; it’s about building community and supporting the trails that connect us all.”

New race coming to Ogden Pioneer Days

If the O-Sho Trail Series doesn’t quite work into your schedule, the annual Ogden Pioneer Days celebration might be a simple fix.

As the statehood celebration continues to grow, organizers teased a “Rodeo Run” in collaboration with GOAL Foundation, posted Wednesday on Instagram.

GOAL, which also organizes and hosts the annual Ogden Marathon, is adding its fifth event to an already packed lineup. The nonprofit already offers its winter running series, the El Doce Mountain Bike Race and the Northern Utah Trailfest.

Details on scheduling and locations are expected to emerge in the coming months.

Starting at $4.32/week.
