(Photo supplied, SEG)Smith Entertainment Group, owners of the NBA’s Utah Jazz and NHL’s Utah Mammoth, announced Friday the completion of construction to the north upper seating area of the Delta Center and details about ticket programs, new food options and more as both professional seasons near.
The Mammoth open the NHL season on Oct. 1, hosting Chicago.
The hockey team will host a celebration before the home opener from 3:30-7:30 p.m. on the Delta Center’s outdoor plaza. The event will feature live entertainment and music, contests and giveaways, photo opportunities with the redesigned Zammoth, and food, beverages and merchandise.
At 4:15 p.m., fans can fete the Mammoth players as they walk the “blue carpet” into the arena. The opener streams exclusively on ESPN+, with a radio call on 97.5 FM/1280 AM KSL Sports Zone. After that, at least 75 games will air over local TV on Utah 16.
The Jazz will have a free open practice on Oct. 5 at the Delta Center before preseason games begin, with a home regular-season opener against New Orleans on Oct. 23.
SEG says it took 143 days to revamp the upper north seating area, which has now added 1,500 full-view seats for hockey games. The team also installed suspended sky lounges along sidelines.
For Jazz and Mammoth games, value ticket deals through Smith’s grocery store return this season. When Smith’s Rewards customers spend $20 at the store, they can get value ticket offers (usually printed on the receipt) for up to two $15 game tickets, which come with a hot dog and water with each ticket.
Students at Utah universities can also buy tickets for $25 and access the Moxie College Club on Level 6.
As for food, both teams are bringing back the value concessions menu, featuring five arena staples for $3 apiece on Levels 3 and 5. Jazz and Mammoth tumblers, made by HydroJug, will be available for $59.99 and can be refilled all season long for $3 per fill on Level 5A.
New premium food and beverage options this season will be: Apollo Burger (Portal R), Bruce’s Berries (Portal S), Cafe Rio (D), Chomp Donuts & Coffee (XX), Dangerous Pretzels (Level 5A), Jurassic Taco (DD), Marley’s Burgers (TT), and R&R BBQ (K).
SEG also touted a new parking garage at the southeast corner of the Delta Center and refurbished mother’s rooms on Levels 3 and 5.
