TORONTO — Joel Bolomboy won’t be the only former Weber State Wildcat in NBA summer league action.

Former Weber State guard Davion Berry will play with the Toronto Raptors in Las Vegas, the Raptors announced Thursday.

Berry was expected to play summer ball with the Raptors after he previously told the Standard-Examiner he would be on the team.

“My goal is to make an NBA roster this year,” he said in May. “I’m trying to get into somebody’s training camp this year and I feel like this could possibly be my year to do that. I feel like people can honestly see my game and be able to see what I can do, other than what they think they know.”

Berry has spent the last two years in the NBA D-League, most recently with Raptors 905 and previously with the Maine Red Claws. He also played one season professionally in Italy.

In his 10 games with Raptors 905, Berry averaged 17.9 points and 3.7 assists per game.

Lottery picks and former Utah Utes Delon Wright and Jakob Poeltl are also on the Raptors’ summer league roster. Quinton Upshur, a former Big Sky foe of Berry’s from Northern Arizona, is also on the team.

Bolomboy will be in Las Vegas with the Utah Jazz, but the two teams are not scheduled to face each other in preliminary play.

The Raptors will play the Sacramento Kings at 8 p.m. MDT Friday, July 8; the Minnesota Timberwolves at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 10; and the Dallas Mavericks at 4:30 p.m. Monday, July 11. A tournament follows through July 18 based on the results of preliminary play.

All Las Vegas Summer League games will be broadcast on ESPN network channels.
