Weber State runner Christian Allen (328) runs in the NCAA mountain regional championship Nov. 12, 2021, in Provo.

Weber State’s first couple of running both represented the Wildcats well at the NCAA cross country national championship meet Saturday morning in Tallahassee, Florida.

Christian Allen claimed All-American status for the second time in his career, finishing 16th in the men’s 10K with a time of 29:17.0.

Summer Allen also claimed All-American status for the second time in her career — both this calendar year — by finishing 35th in the women’s 6K with a time of 19:54.3.

The top 40 runners at the national meet are awarded with All-American status.

Billie Hatch, WSU’s other representative at the race, finished the women’s race in 59th with a time of 20:12.0.

BYU had a banner day by claiming both individual national champions. Conner Mantz defended his individual men’s title by running a 28:33.1. Whittni Orton won the women’s race at 19:25.4.

NC State won the women’s team championship and Northern Arizona won the men’s title.
