By Brett Hein - | Oct 16, 2021

Weber State volleyball continued its torrid tear through its Big Sky schedule over the weekend with a pair of dominant road sweeps.

The Wildcats, now 13-5 overall and 8-0 in the Big Sky, have won 16 consecutive sets going back to the final set of a 3-2 win over Montana State on Sept. 30. WSU has posted five consecutive sweeps since.

And, going back exactly two years to Oct. 17, 2019, Weber State is 34-2 in Big Sky regular-season matches.

Sophomore Dani Nay still leads the nation in service aces with 46 and is third nationally in aces per set. Weber State is third nationally as a team in aces per set at 2.16.

The Wildcats return home to host Idaho (3-14, 0-8) at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, and Eastern Washington (7-9, 3-5) at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23.

WSU 3, SUU 0

Weber State went up 21-6 in the first set and never looked back in a 25-14, 25-17, 25-17 win Thursday at Southern Utah.

Dani Nay had 12 kills and four aces for WSU. Rylin Adams added 10 kills and three aces, and Sam Schiess had seven kills. Ashlyn Power totaled 29 assists and three aces, and Makayla Sorensen had 17 digs.

Weber State avenged the only loss of its 18-1 romp through the Big Sky in the spring season by sweeping Northern Arizona in Flagstaff by scores of 25-15, 25-22, 25-19 on Saturday.

Dani Nay led the way with 19 kills. Emma Mangum had 12 kills and three blocks. Baylee Bodily served two aces. Sam Schiess added three blocks. Ashlyn Power tallied 46 assists and 15 digs, and Makayla Sorensen had 24 digs.
