BAMFORTH WOWS TO OPEN TBT

Former Weber State men’s basketball sharpshooter Scott Bamforth (2010-13) was one of the standouts in Monday’s play during The Basketball Tournament, the winner-takes-all summer event featuring college alumni teams, overseas players and more.

Bamforth is playing for The Enchantment, generally an alumni team for former University of New Mexico players. Bamforth is from Albuquerque.

UNM is hosting a first- and second-round pod and The Enchantment faced off against PanAmaniacs, an in-state rivalry game against alums from New Mexico State.

Bamforth showed off his usual shooting proficiency, totaling 24 points, three assists and two rebounds in 29 minutes. He shot 8 of 11 from the field, 5 of 7 from the 3-point line and 3 of 3 at the foul line.

Bamforth just finished his ninth professional season in Europe, most recently finishing a two-year contract with Le Mans Sarthe in France.

BIG SKY HOF SET FOR SATURDAY

The inaugural Big Sky Conference Hall of Fame class is set to be officially inducted Saturday, July 23, in Spokane, Washington, as part of the Big Sky’s football kickoff event.

Damian Lillard is Weber State’s representative. The 14-person class was originally scheduled to be inducted in a ceremony March 14, 2020, at the conference basketball tournaments in Boise, which did not reach their conclusion due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Other notable inductees include Jared Allen (Idaho State football), Dave Dickenson (Montana football), Stacy Dragila (Idaho State track and field) and Lopez Lomong (NAU track and field).

The ceremony is set for the Davenport Grand Hotel at 6:30 p.m. PDT.
