Weber State women’s soccer team got back in the win column for the first time in a month, and only the second time this season, by taking a 1-0 decision over Northern Arizona on Thursday at Wildcat Soccer Field.

Freshman forward Grace Kirby flew in front of goal to head a cross from Brynlee Meyerhoffer, which found the net in the 29th minute for the only goal of the contest.

Weber State took 17 shots with four on goal. NAU totaled 10 shots, with senior keeper Mekell Moss saving all four that were put on frame.

WSU improved to 2-9 for the season and 1-2 in Big Sky Conference play. The Wildcats next hit the road for contests at Sacramento State on Friday, Oct. 7, and at Portland State on Sunday, Oct. 9.

Weber State volleyball found itself trailing 2-1 against an improved Idaho State squad Friday in Pocatello before rallying for a 25-20, 16-25, 19-25, 25-22, 15-10 victory.

Dani Richins and Baylee Bodily each had 11 kills, with Emma Mangum adding 10 kills, four blocks and two aces. Kate Standifird led the Wildcats with six blocks, 51 assists and 18 digs.

WSU improved to 8-6 overall and 2-1 in league play. The Wildcats next play on the road at Eastern Washington on Thursday, Oct. 6, and at Idaho on Saturday, Oct. 8.
