Some college basketball transfers know the situation they want and find it quickly, others seek something new and need time to find it.

After appearing in 14 games over three seasons, Maryland big man Arnaud Revaz hit the transfer portal. It took a little more than one week for him to land on a new team.

Revaz, a 6-foot-10 native of Switzerland, has committed to Weber State men’s basketball — a decision he announced Monday on Instagram.

Arnaud Revaz (ar-NO REE-vahz) turns 23 next month and has two more seasons of eligibility remaining. He committed to Maryland in the summer of 2020 to head coach Mark Turgeon, who stepped down before last season.

At that time, Turgeon said Revaz has “the ability to shoot 3s, dribble, pass and score with both hands around the basket.”

Revaz spent four years playing in France before signing with Maryland. As a 19-year-old, he averaged 6.7 points and 3.5 rebounds in 20 minutes per game for JL Bourg’s U21 team in the French Pro A system. His highlights there show Revaz possesses some agility and skill that perhaps might be unlocked with some playing time.

His Maryland bio says Revaz is fluent in French, German and English, and has an understanding of Italian.

Revaz will boost Weber State’s center rotation, one that returns 6-foot-10 Alex Tew for a third season and 6-foot-10 Handje Tamba for his second campaign.

Revaz announced his commitment to WSU the same day as Colorado Mesa point guard Blaise Threatt. Those two join Tew, Dillon Jones and Dyson Koehler as five juniors who will suit up for Weber State next season, along with seniors KJ Cunningham and Steven Verplancken Jr.
