Keeping the cat tidy: Weber State tweaks athletics logo ahead of 2023-24 school year
Weber State University unveiled updated versions of its existing athletics logos that will be used for the 2023-24 school year and beyond.
The changes are the first in 11 years. The school implemented the current logos in 2012 that re-did the wildcat head and “Weber State” word marks that eliminated the previous cat-inside-a-shield logo.
The differences are not drastic as the primary logo retains the same overall shape. In general, the new cat head logo uses more purple and black, and the word marks use a bolder typeface and thicker outline colors, including a thick black outline around the main Weber State word mark that appears underneath the cat head in the full, primary logo.
The cat head has undergone several small but noticeable changes. Those include: more purple on the cat’s cheeks, most of the white accents around the cat’s edges have been removed, changed eyes with more defined black outlines, a smaller mouth, and a little extra gray to define the top of the cat’s nose.
The football field at Stewart Stadium and the floor at Swenson Gym, both of which are undergoing replacement this offseason, will feature the new primary logo.
