Weber State’s Dillon Jones wins Big Sky Player of the Week for 5th time this season

After another superb week that helped Weber State to two victories in the Big Sky-Summit Challenge, Weber State forward Dillon Jones has been named the Big Sky Conference men’s player of the week for the fifth time in nine weeks this season.

Jones scored a game-winning basket against South Dakota State and made Weber State’s final five field goals at Oral Roberts to end the nation’s longest home winning streak while shooting 68% from the floor.

He averaged 24.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game in the two victories.

The 6-foot-6 versatile star remains the only player in the country to lead his conference in points (19.4), rebounds (10.2) and assists (4.9) per game.

Against South Dakota State, Jones totaled 23 points, six rebounds and nine assists while making four 3-pointers and shooting 9 of 12 overall. At Oral Roberts, he added 26 points, 10 rebounds and six assists and was 10 of 13 on two-pointers.

During the two games, Jones moved up to third on WSU’s career leaderboard for rebounds (976), third for steals (172), sixth for assists (318) and 11th for points (1,409).

Over the last eight games, Jones is averaging 6.5 assists per game and is shooting 42.3% from the 3-point line.

The honor is the 13th such award for Jones in his career.
