Weber State football: WSU signs 2 more Utah preps, including all-time great QB

By BRETT HEIN - Standard-Examiner | Dec 5, 2025

Weber State football has capped its list of early signees to the 2026 class with two more additions Friday, adding two teammates from Cache Valley.

Quarterback Nate Dahle and linebacker Cooper Clark from Ridgeline High School have signed with Weber State.

That brings WSU’s total early signees to 18 players. Eight hail from the state of Utah, seven from California, and one each from Colorado, Nevada and Texas.

Dahle is one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in Utah high school history. The left-hander threw for 12,464 yards over four seasons, second-most in Utah preps history behind only Austin Kafentzis (Jordan, 2011-14) — more than Bryson Barnes, Helaman Casuga, Cammon Cooper, Maddux Madsen or Jaxson Dart.

Dahle is also second all-time in career completions (842) and third in passing touchdowns (128). He had a career completion percentage of 63.3%. As a senior, he totaled 4,005 passing yards and 54 touchdowns on a 70.5% clip, adding 454 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground.

The 6-foot-1 thrower was committed to Eastern Washington until recently; WSU offered him two days after Mickey Mental’s firing. He’s unrated by 247 Sports.

Clark, however, is a three-star linebacker and sits just inside 247’s top 50 players in Utah. The 6-footer totaled 77 tackles, including 17 for loss, this season with a team-high four interceptions, adding two forced fumbles and two blocked punts.

While WSU is currently without a head coach, interim leader Brent Myers said Wednesday that he and Wildcat assistants were not only carrying out their contractual duties to keep recruiting for Weber State, but that “we got quite a few kids that we feel really strongly about.”

Starting at $4.32/week.
