Peter Visser is heading to the NCAA track and field championships. Visser qualified for the NCAA meet in the 3,000-meter steeplechase following his performance at the NCAA West First Round meet Friday in College Station, Texas.

It’s his second NCAA Championship appearance this academic year as he also competed in the NCAA’s in cross country.

Visser finished 12th overall in the steeplechase on Friday afternoon with a time of 8:40.17. He was third in his heat, with the top three automatically qualifying for the NCAA Championships.

Earlier this year, Visser posted a career-best time of 8:35.98 in the event at the Stanford Invitational. That time currently ranks as the fifth-best in Weber State history. Visser also set a school record in the 5,000 meters this season.

The junior from Afton, Wyoming, finished second in the steeplechase and the 5,000 meters at the Big Sky Championships earlier in May in Sacramento.

The NCAA Championships will be held June 11-14 in Eugene, Oregon.

Two other Wildcats also competed in the NCAA First Round meet in the steeplechase. Freshman Owen Rogers (Gooding, Idaho) finished 31st overall with a time of 9:05.63. Senior Ty Davis (Riverton, Utah) concluded his Wildcat career finishing 42nd overall with a time of 9:19.99.

The Wildcat men’s 4×400-meter relay team also competed at the NCAA First Round meet. The team of Rodee Brow (Wheatland, Wyoming), Orion Barger (Incline Village, Nevada), Colby Anderson (Roy, Utah), and Alex Wheeler (West Point, Utah) finished 21st in the event with a time of 3:09.54, the second-fastest mark of the season. It is also the fifth-fastest time in Weber State history.

Harding wins scoring crown in top Spain league

The Weber State men’s basketball career scoring king notched his first scoring crown as a professional.

Jerrick Harding’s professional ascent continued Friday when Liga ACB, the top professional league in Spain, concluded its regular season and the former Wildcat stood as the league’s scoring leader at 20 points per game.

The guard for MoraBanc Andorra logged three 30-point games this season, with a high of 36 against BAXI Manresa on Dec. 14, 2024. This season, Harding shot 48.6% overall, 37.1% from the 3-point line and 88.2% at the foul line.

Andorra went 14-20 this season, good for an 11th-place finish in the 18-team table which is often considered the top club league outside the NBA.

Elsewhere in Liga ACB, veteran Scott Bamforth wrapped up his 12th professional season, spending 2024-25 with CB Granada. Bamforth averaged 11.2 points and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 36.8% from distance.

In Liga ABA, also known as the Adriatic League, Joel Bolomboy averages 8.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per game with Serbia’s Crvena Zvezda for his seventh professional season. In Romania’s top league, Kyndahl Hill averages 7.6 points and 4.3 rebounds with BCM U Pitesti.

After stints in the G League, France and Spain, Jeremy Senglin spent the 2024-25 season with WKS Slask Wroclaw in Poland’s top league, averaging 10.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game across all competitions while shooting 39.5% from 3.

Michal Kozak logged 6.4 points and 5.7 rebounds in 34 games with Slavia Praha in the top league in his native Czech Republic.

In Italy’s second division, Isiah Brown scores 14.6 points per game, formerly with Ferraroni Juvi Cremona and later with Enel Brindisi. In 10 games after signing with Vitoria Alves Guimaraes in Portugal’s second league, Zahir Porter is leading his team at 22.6 points per game.

In Japan’s B3 league, Brekkott Chapman leads his Kagawa Five Arrows (41-11) team at 14.1 points and 8.3 rebounds.
