Weber State women’s basketball trailed by as few as three points late in the third quarter but BYU ran away from the Wildcats for a double-digit win Saturday afternoon in Provo.

Arizana Peaua scored in the paint for WSU to make the score 57-54 with 1:31 left in the third. But BYU went on a 15-2 run that stretched to the 5:34 mark of the fourth, putting the home team ahead 72-56 and never looking back.

Weber State (2-4) led 19-16 after one quarter and, despite BYU (6-0) shooting 6 of 12 from distance in the first half, the Cougars led only 38-35 at halftime.

WSU senior forward Antoniette Emma-Nnopu finished with 17 points, eight rebounds and eight assists; she scored 13 in the first half. Junior guard Hannah Robbins led Weber with 19 points while senior Lanae Billy scored nine points, limited to 21 minutes with foul trouble. The Wildcats shot just 4 of 22 from the 3-point line and are 25.3% from deep this season.

BYU center Lara Rohkohl led her team with 18 points. Marya Hudgins and Arielle Mackey-Williams each scored 11 points while Sydney Benally totaled nine points and nine assists. The Cougars won their sixth straight, beating WSU after narrowly escaping a one-point win over Montana.

BYU next plays two games in the U.S. Virgin Islands on Nov. 27 and 29.

Weber State is at Utah on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
