Weber State football has announced the signings of eight incoming transfers and made official one more coach, while another expected coach is already out the door.

On Wednesday, WSU made official that new head coach Eric Kjar has hired former player Isiah Jackson as receivers coach. Jackson played for Kjar at Jordan High School, then at Weber State from 2017-21, and caught a touchdown pass against SEMO in the 2018 playoffs.

Jackson has coached receivers at Morgan High for two seasons, was a graduate assistant for two years at Weber State, and spent the 2025 season coaching receivers at Cedar Valley High School.

Kjar, meanwhile, is on the hunt for a cornerbacks coach. Former WSU and BYU player Eddie Heckard was on board but, after the movement that took both Kyle Whittingham and Jay Hill to Michigan, Heckard has followed to become assistant cornerbacks coach at Michigan.

Friday marked the final day of this offseason’s only transfer portal window; linebacker Aidan O’Callaghan announced he’s entered, pushing WSU’s list of outgoing players to 30 or more.

Meanwhile, Weber began to announce players it’s picking up via transfer Thursday and Friday. Five are FBS transfers, including quarterback Devin Brown from Cal.

Here’s a quick look at the transfers Weber State has signed.

ZION ANDREASEN, Utah State: The 6-foot-4 outside linebacker spent three seasons at Utah State, tallying five tackles, and has two years left. He was a first-team All-State player at East High in Salt Lake City as a senior.

DEVIN BROWN, Cal: The former four-star quarterback who played for Kjar for one season at Corner Canyon will finish his college career at Weber State. He spent three years at Ohio State and one at Cal, totaling 379 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions in spot duty. As a senior at Corner Canyon, Brown threw for 4,875 yards, a Utah single-season record, and 57 touchdowns after moving from Arizona.

TATE KJAR, Utah State: The Kjar quotient continues to increase as the 5-foot-10 Tate joins up with brother Noah in WSU’s receiver room. He has three seasons left after appearing in two games over two years at USU. He had 17 100-yard receiving games at Corner Canyon and 3,585 yards and 35 touchdowns in his high school career.

BONES MARKS, Tarleton State: Cornerback Kendal “Bones” Marks, from Baltimore, played one season at FCS Saint Francis, one at Tyler Junior College for WSU linebackers coach Tanner Jacobson, and one at Tarleton State. Combined, he has 39 tackles, two interceptions and 15 pass breakups.

VEA MOALA, Tyler JC: The 6-foot-4 offensive lineman, a native of Washington, played two seasons at Tyler Junior College in Texas for Jacobson.

TOMMY ROMANO, Arizona State: The 6-foot safety and native of Arizona spent three seasons at Arizona State and has two remaining. He saw the field in his final game, recording two tackles, including one for loss, in ASU’s bowl game against Duke.

OMAR SHAH, Utah: The 5-foot-9 player listed as a running back played RB and linebacker at East High in Salt Lake City as the son of longtime University of Utah coach and former sideline reporter Sharrieff Shah. After one season at Fort Hays State, Shah played in 25 games at Utah on special teams, recording seven tackles.

TRE TURNER, Lamar: The 6-foot-2 defensive back spent three years at FCS Lamar and has two remaining. He recorded 11 tackles and two pass breakups in eight games in 2025.

Friday, Weber State also announced the signing of 6-foot-3 lineman Teancum Moea’i, who appears to be a returning missionary who graduated from Kahuku (Hawaii) in 2023.

Starting at $4.32/week.
