Clairon (Clair) Vermont Haney

Clairon (Clair) Vermont Haney passed away on May 11, 2025. He was born May 30, 1934 in Garland, Utah to Alvin C. Haney and Ettine Roskelly. He married Colleen Clifton in 1954 and they had 5 children. They later divorced. In 1991 he married Marlene Bybee.

He had a lifelong career in computer programming and was very talented playing and singing guitar. He loved his family and going to family reunions. He also loved playing golf and racquetball. He coached little league baseball when he lived in Gardenia, CA. He loved his job in CA but missed his family in Utah and Oregon, so he moved back to Utah in 1967. In his last few years, he suffered from Alzheimer’s Dementia. Marlene took care of him until he was moved to Peaks Memory Care. We wish to thank the staff at Peaks for their excellent care and love shown to him. Also, thanks to Inspiration Hospice for their care.

He is survived by wife Marlene; children, Scott (Julianne) Haney, Diana Karcher, Bret (Chris) Haney, Teresa Hinckley, Glenn (Jamie) Neslen and Denise Bailey (Mike); 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Phillip, grandsons, McKay and Cory and sister Carol, brother, John. Also, his first wife and the mother of his children, Colleen.

Funeral services will be held Thursday May 15, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at the Clinton 32nd Ward, 2841 West 1300 North, Clinton, UT. Visitations will be both Wednesday May14, 2025, from 6-8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Roy, 5865 South 1900 West, and at the church prior to services from 9:30-10:45 a.m.

Interment: Clinton City Cemetery.
