Mining explosives found during landscaping project in Washington Terrace neighborhood

WASHINGTON TERRACE — A handful of houses were temporarily evacuated while crews removed a box of old mining explosives in Washington Terrace on Monday morning. According to a press release by the Weber County Sheriff's Office, deputies were summoned to a residence around 8:45 a.m. Monday after potential explosives were found during an ongoing project.
