Fire at mouth of Weber Canyon contained after briefly threatening structures
A new grass fire started at the mouth of Weber Canyon early Wednesday morning but as of that afternoon was already listed as being 50% contained. Utah Fire Info indicated that the fire started around 3:15 a.m. and ended up burning 30 acres. In response to the blaze, northbound lanes of US-89 were closed at the I-84 junction and power was temporarily shut off to around 1,800 customers in the area but both restrictions were lifted later on Wednesday.
