Case advances against Layton man accused of trying to kill mother

FARMINGTON — A judge has ordered a Layton man to stand trial on an attempted-murder charge for allegedly trying to suffocate his mother with a plastic bag and choking her after she broke free. Layton police and Davis County prosecutors presented evidence in a preliminary hearing Thursday for Jason Raoul Solis, 35, who faces eight criminal charges stemming from the Sept. 19, 2020, incident.
