‘Five Carols for Christmas’ Opening Night
Back by popular demand, Ogden Musical Theatre presents “Five Carols for Christmas” this holiday season at Peery’s Egyptian Theater. The retro musical comedy, set in 1954, follows five best friends — all named Carol — as preparations for their annual holiday performance at the local high school on Christmas Eve get hilariously complicated by a power outage. “This is a story we can all relate to,” said Maurie Tarbox, this year’s director and artistic director. “These five Carols are just doing the best they can to make everything perfect and it never is.” Tarbox said it’s the talented cast, nostalgic music and choreography that will make this your family’s favorite Christmas tradition. “Five Carols for Christmas” runs from Nov. 24-29, with evening showings and Saturday and Sunday matinees.

‘Vida, Muerte, Justicia | Life, Death, Justice: Latin American & Latinx Art for the 21st Century’
Ogden Contemporary Arts hosts this exhibit of 24 Latin American and Latinx contemporary artists whose work responds to relevant themes in relation to social and racial justice. The exhibited artists offer local, national and international perspectives through multiple disciplines including painting, sculpture, photography, installation, performance, digital art and more. “Vida, Muerte, Justicia” is a collaboration between Ogden Contemporary Arts, Weber State University’s Mary Elizabeth Dee Shaw Gallery, curator Jorge Rojas and associate curator Maria del Mar González-González. Be sure to catch the exhibit this week before it closes next Saturday.

Indie Ogden Presents The Ogden Bizarre
“Things Getting and Giving Day” is the theme for the November Ogden Bizarre. Just in time for the holidays, this special Bizarre market includes a food drive and raffle, in addition to local vendors, food, art and music. “When you think of shopping for the holidays, take a moment and find the small businesses in Ogden to shop from instead of the big box stores or Amazon,” stated Ogden Bizarre Market on their social media page. “When you shop ‘small’ you help build up our community and you give joy to these faces that work so hard to provide you all with their gifts and their talents.” The opportunity to shop local at this month’s Bizarre will help support over 60 local artists and makers.
