Utah North to South: Stories of the Land and the People

All are welcome to hear stories of the Mountain West at Brigham City Museum on Wednesday. An esteemed panel, including Molly Cannon, Darren Parry and G. Russell Case, will discuss the history of the Mountain West and the role the Utah landscape plays in those stories. The program supports the museum’s current exhibition “Utah North to South,” a retrospective of artist G. Russell Case that provides visitors and art enthusiasts a look into Case’s 30 year career focusing on Northern Utah, one of his favorite places to paint.

Brigham City Museum states: “For millennia, peoples of the Mountain West have relied on the great abundance that support life, crafting shelters from its timber, cultivating food from its soils, and creating diverse lifeways across its land. Like his vast representations of landscape, Case’s work permits an opportunity to see yourself among the land, experience grace, whoever you might be, whatever your connection to the Mountain West.”

The event is free and open to the public but registration is recommended at utahnorthtosouth.eventbrite.com.

Wednesday, May 18, 6-8 p.m., Brigham City Museum of Art & History, 24 N. 300 West, Brigham City, free, brighamcitymuseum.org
