FARMERS MARKET OGDEN

Farmers Market Ogden returns Saturday for 16 weeks supporting all things local with 250 fresh produce and artisan vendors, local musicians, community yoga and more. The award-winning market, produced and managed by Ogden Downtown Alliance, takes over three blocks in the heart of downtown Ogden on Historic 25th Street from Wall Avenue to Washington Boulevard transforming the street into a bustling marketplace and popular community event.

“Building farm-to-table connections is one of the many things that excites me about this year’s summer market,” says Sher Rowley, market manager for Farmers Market Ogden. “Keep an eye out for new vendors and the opportunities to volunteer at local farms!”

Farmers Market Ogden accepts Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT), Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) and Produce RX. ” With many of our community members qualifying for SNAP, we are proud to run this program and provide that key access to local agriculture through Farmers Market Ogden,” ODA says.

A full schedule of community activities, yoga instructors, live music and more will be posted weekly at farmersmarketogden.com and @FarmersMarketOgden on Facebook and Instagram.

SUBI MARKET FAIR

Saturday is the first annual Subi Market Fair, presented by the Subi Foundation, a new local nonprofit that serves the villages of Namutumba County, Uganda. All proceeds will help build a school in Ivuukula, co-founder Gregory Makubire’s hometown village.

The Subi Market Fair is designed to resemble a Ugandan marketplace with a rummage sale, a bake sale, Ugandan kid’s games, a raffle, a silent auction, Ugandan storytime, live music and dance performances. “Going to the market is one of my favorite things to do in Uganda,” says Makubire. “At Ugandan markets, the vendors don’t just sell their goods, they actually visit with the customers, many of whom are their neighbors.” Learn more at subiuganda.org.
