Western Sports Park, Farmington, May 16-17, all day
Spring is a great time to appreciate our feathered friends, which is what this festival is all about. The Davis County website says “Every May, the Great Salt Lake Bird Festival transforms Davis County into a birder’s playground. Since 1999, the festival has celebrated one of North America’s most important migration routes with field trips, workshops, family activities, and hands-on conservation experiences. The festival is headquartered at Western Sports Park in Farmington, the central hub for registration, vendors, workshops, and community events. Think migration magic, expert guides, and plenty of birder bucket-list moments packed into Utah’s best birding event. Please register for field trips, workshops, and keynote dinner. Family Day and Wings & Things Vendor Fair are free to attend and do not require registration.”

From the event website: “The Mountain Man Rendezvous at Fort Buenaventura is a vibrant, family’friendly celebration that brings the spirit of the early fur’trade era to life through authentic reenactments, traditional crafts, black’powder shooting, games, music, and frontier storytelling. Held at historic Fort Buenaventura, the event transforms the grounds into a bustling 19th’century trading camp where visitors can meet mountain men and women, browse handmade goods, watch demonstrations, and experience the rugged lifestyle of Utah’s earliest trappers and traders. It’s a lively blend of history, culture, and outdoor adventure that offers a fun and immersive step back in time.”
