Upham’s family criticized Auburn police for not taking her disappearance seriously. The police did not consider it unexplained, involuntary or suspicious that Upham simply disappeared from her sister’s house.
Police also said they followed procedure in the case and believe the death was caused by a fall down the ravine.
But “After seeing the body,” Upham’s father told The Hollywood Reporter, “we did not feel that Misty committed suicide.”
Upham who also appeared in ”Frozen River” and ”Django Unchained” suffered from bipolar disorder and depression.
Misty Anne Upham was born on July 6, 1982 in Kalispell, Montana. She died in Auburn, Washington at the age of 32.

Why won’t authorities call Misty Upham’s murder a homicide? She didn’t beat herself about the head & torso & dump herself in a ravine. #MMIW
